Driving instructor qualification rates UK to June 2021

The DfT has just released the latest test performance statistics for the three qualifying tests to become a driving instructor: Part 1 theory, Part 2 driving, Part 3 instructional.

Part 1 51%  male 53%  female 47%

Part 2 64%  male 65%  female 60%

Part 3 37%  male 35%  female 43%

There was a huge spike in Part 2 tests compared to previous recent quarters and historically.  Something in the region of 30% increase in Part 2 tests compared to historical quarters.

The performance by females on Part 3 tests represents a steep increase compared to historical figures; females outperforming males by something in the order of 8%

 

When looking at regional variations across different test centres in the UK, a sample of test centres for Part 2 tests include:

Belvedere (London) 79% pass rate

Lincoln 63%

Peterborough 57%

Rhyl 84%

St Helens (Liverpool) 40%

 

Regional differences for Part 3 tests include:

Bridgend 78%

Bristol (Kingswood) 33%

Crawley 63%

Peterborough 30%

Winchester 70%
