This video HERE features the franchise owner, Tom Ingram describing the difference between the driving instructor skills needed for DVSA assessment tests versus those needed by driving instructors to provide premium quality driving training.
There are three factors that exist in fairly equal measure when a professional is performing to a high level of competence: ability, confidence and know-how. Traditionally, driving instructor training in the UK has tended to concentrate on the know-how section, which is generally centred around what instructors need to do to for either qualification or a Standards Check.
But there are many other skills needed within the Ability factor that will help a driving instructor to create added value for a customer. These are clearly defined and measurable skills that most instructors can develop. Not to be confused with driving instructor grades, this video is referring to key skills that go beyond those assessed on DVSA tests.
